TNAU Cutoff 2026: Aggregate vs Rank, Marks Allotted in Each Round, 7.5% Quota — From the Official Lists

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University publishes a rank list, round-wise verification lists and vacancy positions — but never a college-wise closing mark. This page turns those official 2026 documents into the numbers a candidate actually needs: which aggregate gave which rank (general and community), the aggregate range of the candidates allotted in every round, and how quickly each course and college filled. 22,987 candidates were ranked; 5,233 got a Round-1 seat.

Aggregate vs rank — TNAU general rank list 2026

The rank shown is the last general rank holding that aggregate or higher in the provisional academic-stream rank list (22,987 candidates), and the last community rank for each reserved community. OC candidates have a general rank only. Read it as “with 185, you were about rank 1,482 in 2026”.

Community share of the 2026 general list: OC 172, BC 6,877, BCM 508, MBC 7,295, SC 6,582, SCA 936, ST 616. OC here means candidates who claimed no reservation; BC/MBC/SC candidates also compete for the 31% open seats on their general rank.

Aggregate range allotted in each round of 2026

TNAU calls the candidates allotted in each round to certificate verification at Coimbatore and publishes that list with the aggregate (Rounds 1–2) or the rank (Rounds 3–4). The spread of those lists is the closest thing to a published cutoff:

How the Round-1 seats were spread by aggregate

Round-1 allotments include every course and college, government and private, so the low end of the range is dominated by affiliated-college and less-sought-after courses; a government B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture seat in Round 1 sits far higher in this distribution than the minimum suggests. Round 3 and Round 4 (ranks 9,138 onwards) were mostly private-college seats: on 19 August only 205 of the 2,516 constituent general-quota seats were vacant, against 1,317 in the affiliated colleges and Annamalai University.

Which courses and colleges filled first (government colleges)

General-quota seats per course in the constituent colleges, and the seats still vacant after Round 1 (28 July) and Round 2 (19 August). A course with almost no vacancy after Round 1 closed at a high rank; one still open after Round 2 admitted late-round candidates.

Vacancy by community, all colleges

The affiliated-college vacancy rose slightly between the two lists (1,292 to 1,317) because upward movement into government colleges re-opened private seats. Every college’s own community-wise numbers are on the colleges page.

7.5% government-school quota — aggregate vs rank 2026

7,977 candidates were on the 7.5% list; Round 1 called 423 of them (aggregates 176.5–199.5). The quota is 7.5% of every course in every college, allotted on a preferential basis before the general seats, and a candidate not placed under it competes again in the general list.

What TNAU publishes — and what it does not

• Published: the rank lists with aggregate and community rank; the verification list of each round; the college-wise, community-wise vacancy after each round; the seat matrix and fees in the brochure.
• Not published: the allotted college of each candidate, hence no official college-wise closing aggregate. Any site quoting “AC&RI Coimbatore cutoff 190” is estimating.

What is the TNAU cutoff for B.Sc Agriculture 2026?

TNAU does not publish a college-wise closing mark. What its own lists show for 2026: the general rank list has 22,987 candidates (aggregate 82.5 to 200 out of 200); the 5,233 candidates called for Round-1 certificate verification had aggregates from 105 to 200, median 171.5, and 90% of them were at 158 or above; Round 2 verified 2,051 candidates with aggregates 113–172.5; Round 3 called ranks 9,138–22,965 (aggregates 93.5–161) and Round 4 ranks 14,439–22,987. In other words nearly every ranked candidate got a call by September, but the government colleges filled in Rounds 1–2.

What aggregate is needed for a rank under 1,000 in TNAU?

In the 2026 general rank list an aggregate of 188 gave a rank of about 1,000, 182.67 gave about 2,000, 173 about 5,000 and 159.5 about 10,000 (see the table). The rank for a given mark shifts every year with the applicant pool, so treat these as this year’s reference points.

How is the TNAU aggregate calculated?

Each of the four subjects (Mathematics or Biology or Botany + Zoology, Physics, Chemistry and Biology) is converted to a mark out of 50 and the four are added, giving an aggregate out of 200; grace marks and additional subjects are excluded, and non-Tamil Nadu boards are normalised under the Tamil Nadu Act 3 of 2007. Ties are broken by the marks in the individual subjects and then by age.

What is the 7.5% government-school quota cutoff in TNAU 2026?

The 7.5% rank list had 7,977 candidates. The 423 called for its Round-1 verification (20 July 2026) had aggregates from 176.5 to 199.5 (median 186.5), i.e. 7.5%-list ranks 1 to 820. After three rounds 139 of the 7.5% seats were still vacant on 19 August and went to offline rounds in September.

Does a low aggregate still get an agriculture seat?

In 2026 the online rounds reached rank 22,987 of 22,987 and the offline counselling of 10 September called candidates with aggregates down to 109.5; the remaining seats were almost all in private affiliated colleges and went to spot admission after the colleges opened on 16 September. Government-college seats were essentially gone after Round 2 (205 of 2,516 general-quota seats vacant on 19 August).
