B.Pharm is the 4-year undergraduate degree. Pharm.D is a 6-year doctoral programme (5 years plus a 1-year hospital internship). Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) is a 3-year route for B.Pharm graduates. M.Pharm is a 2-year postgraduate degree taken in one branch.

B.Pharm and Pharm.D eligibility and admission
Eligibility. A pass in +2 (HSC) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, plus Biology or Mathematics. Candidates must normally have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission. D.Pharm holders may enter the second year of B.Pharm through lateral entry.
NEET is not required. Pharmacy admission in Tamil Nadu is made on +2 marks, not on a NEET score — the same as B.Sc Nursing and unlike MBBS or BDS.
Admission process. Applications go to the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) / Selection Committee, which publishes a merit list from your +2 marks and conducts counselling with communal reservation applied. Self-financing colleges fill their government-quota seats through the same counselling and their management-quota seats directly.
Check the approval before you pay. Every college here is affiliated to the university and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). A college without current affiliation cannot present its students for university examinations, and a pharmacy qualification from an unapproved college will not register you with the State Pharmacy Council.
