When will TNEA 2027 registration open? Not announced. In 2026 online registration opened on 3 May, soon after the Class 12 results, and closed on 5 June. Expect a similar window in 2027, but wait for the official notification — we will update this page the day it is published.

How the TNEA cutoff is calculated

Your cutoff is out of 200: Mathematics (out of 100) + Physics ÷ 2 + Chemistry ÷ 2, from your Class 12 marks. Example: Maths 95, Physics 90, Chemistry 88 → 95 + 45 + 44 = 184. The rank list orders students by cutoff, and seats are allotted by rank and community reservation in rounds.

What 2026 tells you about 2027

1,77,342 general seats were offered in 2026; 44,450 stayed vacant after all rounds (76.9% filled) — final vacancy, college-wise · seats filled.
Top colleges and branches fill in the first round; branch cutoffs: AI & DS, CSE (Cyber Security) and others in the college directory.
The 7.5% reservation for government-school students runs inside the same counselling.

What to do now (Class 12 students)

Maths carries half the cutoff — it is worth 100 of the 200; Physics and Chemistry 50 each.
Keep certificates ready before registration opens: community certificate, nativity / Class 6–12 study certificates, first-graduate certificate if applicable, and government-school proof for the 7.5% reservation.
Write JEE Main 2027 too if you want NITs or IIITs — Session 1 applications close on 22 November 2026 (dates). TNEA itself needs no entrance exam.
Shortlist deemed universities as a back-up: VITEEE 2027 (27 Apr – 2 May) and AEEE 2027 (15 Apr – 7 May) — VIT & Amrita dates.
