IIM Fee Structure 2026-28 — MBA / PGP Fees at the IIMs

Two-year MBA (PGP) fees for the 2026-28 batch, from each IIM's own fee notice — 12 of the 21 IIMs publish one we could read. The printed programme fee runs from ₹17.9 lakh (IIM Rohtak) to ₹25.16 lakh (IIM Indore). IIM fees are the same for every category; mess is usually extra.

Fee waivers and scholarships at IIMs

IIMs do not reduce the fee by category. They run their own need-based aid, and SC, ST, OBC and PwD students can apply for the Government of India Top Class Education scholarships. What the IIMs state:

IIM Indore — Need Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) scheme listed on the PGP pages.
IIM Tiruchirappalli — Academic Fee Waiver Scheme: 50% academic-fee waiver for 2% of students (financial need).
IIM Udaipur — Need-based tuition waivers for household income below Rs 6 lakh (IIMU fees & financing page).
IIM Kashipur — 10% of MBA participants get a full yearly tuition waiver (need / merit / need-cum-merit).
IIM Amritsar — Institute reserves a need-based scholarship fund; merit scholarships for top CGPA.

What is the MBA fee at IIMs for 2026-28?

On the IIMs' own 2026-28 sheets we could read, the two-year MBA/PGP fee runs from ₹17.9 lakh (IIM Rohtak) to ₹25.16 lakh (IIM Indore). Mess, caution deposit and alumni fees are sometimes extra — see the table.

Is the IIM fee lower for SC, ST and OBC students?

No — IIMs charge the same programme fee to every category. Help comes through need-based aid run by each IIM and the Government of India 'Top Class Education' scholarships for SC, ST, OBC and students with disabilities.

Does the IIM fee include hostel and mess?

Hostel is included in the programme fee at most IIMs; mess is usually billed separately on actuals. Each IIM's line in the table shows what its figure includes.

Which IIM has the lowest MBA fee?

Among the 2026-28 sheets we read, IIM Rohtak at ₹17.9 lakh — but compare what each total includes.

Is there a fee difference between CAT and NRI admissions?

Yes, at IIMs that admit NRI/foreign candidates: IIM Indore charges ₹37.16 lakh and IIM Sambalpur ₹29.63 lakh for NRI/foreign students against their Indian fee.

Where these figures come from

IIM Ahmedabad — iima.ac.in serves its MBA fee only inside admission-policy files that open as downloads; the only fee announcement on the site is from 2018.
IIM Bangalore — iimb.ac.in's 'Programme Expenses' page refuses automated reads (HTTP 403).
IIM Calcutta — The MBA page on iimcal.ac.in does not state the 2026-28 domestic fee.
